Diagnosis of GBS

As is the case with number of other health conditions, health care providers rely quite a bit on your medical history and a physical examination in order to diagnose Guillain Barre Syndrome. If your health care provider is sure that you are suffering from Guillain Barre Syndrome, you may have to answer detailed questions. There is also a possibility that your health care provider may conduct few tests you in order to confirm this syndrome. It includes spinal tap test, electromyogram and finally a nerve conduction velocity (NCV) test. With nerve conduction velocity test, your health care provider can tell you clearly how your nerves are working especially when it comes to transmitting signals down to the arms and legs.
